NTS was born out of a combination of experience, expertise, and innovation. History takes us back to the year of 1947 when the company Te Strake was founded, and 1954, when the company Nebato was established. In 2005, Te Strake and Nebato bundled their strengths and merged together to form NTS. With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and metalworking, it brought together the best of both worlds.
Working together meant that we became a vertically integrated supplier. NTS could not only develop and manufacture complex machines from scratch, but we could take over the full supply chain. By building joint expertise on design and development, while investing more in the manufacturing processes, we leveled up our competitive advantage. And not to forget, that back-then the newly formed NTS acquired a stronger international presence with factories in the Czech Republic and China.
In 2013 we started growing exponentially as the family Wintermans of ‘Royal Agio Cigars’ became a shareholder. We could now gear up our plans to increase our presence in Asia with the acquisition of new plants in Singapore. In the years 2014 to 2016, new acquisitions in Europe, Asia and USA turned us into a global player and enabled us to fulfill our role as a first-tier contract manufacturer. Around the same period, the acquisition of Norma in 2016 also added precision engineering as a competence to our portfolio. In 2019, the family Wintermans became the full shareholder. Since then, we have continued to focus on the connections between the several sites and improve our customer-oriented service. This strategy paid off and resulted in a turnover of 400 million euros in 2022.
